SanDisk released a flash storage device Monday that can actually beam files to and from your devices — without an Internet connection.
Once you pair the SanDisk Connect flash drive with up to eight devices, those gadgets can wirelessly add, remove and view files from the flash drive, as further explained in the video above. There’s an option to password-protect the files, as well.
The Connect’s connections are made through SanDisk’s mobile app, and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Kindle Fire and Android devices. The drive can stream for up to four hours on a single charge and has a wireless range of 150 feet. The flash drive comes in 16 GB ($49.99) and 32 GB ($59.99) versions.
If your smartphone is running out of internal space, the Connect could be useful to transfer those extra files and free up some space. The drive also can stream video to up to three devices at the same time.
If you don’t mind something a bit bigger, SanDisk also released a larger wireless media drive, which comes in 32 GB ($79.99) and 64 GB ($99.99) versions.
