Lenovo stepped into developing storage devices through a partnership with EMC in 2012 and has begun marketing related products targeting small- to medium-size businesses and media center home users, according to Lenovo Taiwan.
Although Lenovo has already become a top-two brand vendor in the PC industry, the market’s weakening performance is pushing Lenovo to seek other opportunities for growth, and the company is now aggressively trying to enter the enterprise industry.
Lenovo is currently negotiating with IBM trying to acquire the US player’s server business. Some market watchers pointed out that both firms are interested in the transaction, but have not yet reached an agreement over price.
